After leaving paradise, I had a 3 day layover in Dubai. I opted to fly into Abu Dhabi and out of Dubai. Luckily I was there during the winter, so it was only 113 degrees, but very humid. Abu Dhabi is the capital and a lot more reserved than Dubai, which is open 24/7 and definitely has a party vibe. Abu Dhabi is just a laid-back town with a suburban feel. Not necessarily a small town, but much more family oriented. I signed up for a tour and was fortunate enough to meet some really cool people. A couple from NZ and my soul sister Mitzie from Japan that is going to show me around Japan next year.
Shaik Zayed Grand Mosque- largest in the country.
Driving around town. Unlike Dubai, not a ton of traffic. But a lot of smog. The hotel below cost over 3.5 Billion to build...(Big picture in the middle and the picture next to it are the crystals in the lobby)
We also went to a cultural museum and those are the actual living quarters and ancient artifact's.
Dates are the national fruit. We stopped at the market plus got to try their coffee.
We stopped for lunch and hydration before finishing the day.
It was a good tour and he kept us indoors most of the time so we didn't deal have to deal with the heat and humidity to much.
