The city is in the south of the country and has a more tropical climate. Sunny and in the mid-80s—which is a welcome relief from the cold and rainy weather up north. This is a large city (largest city in the south, second largest in Taiwan) with a laid-back vibe. From the temples to the diverse restaurants and the Love River, I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 days here. I haven't mentioned it before, but I have traveled around the country by train. This is the first time I haven't flown between cities, and it was really easy. The trains are clean and punctual with storage space for luggage. Each train station had both elevators and escalators, so I was able to get around alone. I must admit I was really worried about this, but it was good. I only hope South Korea is the same.

Moon World Park and a Fo Guang Shan Budda Museum below.

156 steps up to see the view. It was worth the climb. This park is notable because of the tropical area and then this random sand park in the foothills outside of the city. Looks like the moon- so they say.

Below is 228 Monument, Lotus Pond, Dragon Tiger Tower and misc. pictures around town.

I enjoyed my time in this port city. I know I didn't get to see everything, but I got to see a lot of what this town has to offer, and I would love to return one day! I'm continuing my journey by traveling to the east coast. Next up: Taitung and Hualien City.
