Sri Lanka, Negombo

After many years of wanting to visit this beautiful island, I finally made it! First stop, I stayed by the airport and to make the most of my short stay, I booked a village/river tour. This is the dutch canal, opening up to the Indian Ocean.

Fish farms, mangroves and clear water. Dutch canal below...too bad it's so dirty...

And of course the monkeys...these were friendly at least. Like I said, this was a short 2 days before I embarked on my journey around the country. And a beautiful country it is! Can't wait to explore more.
