I wasn't sure what to expect since I was coming here after Mauritius. I think I've found paradise! It's a small island, it's only 16miles long and 4.5 miles wide with scary narrow streets! But the clear blue water, white sand and awesome people, I know I will return, sooner than later.
I chose to stay at an B n B less than a 5 minute drive from the beach, and I definitely made the right choice! The owner was absolutely wonderful-from waiting for me when I arrived really, really late due to delayed flight. To letting me come back and stay when I missed my flight and didn't want to sit at the airport all day-at no charge! I even got the rental car for the day without an extra charge. Probably because it was off season, but mainly, I believe, because their just wonderful people that believe in helping anyone that needs help. Here's where I stayed:
And of course I spent as much time as I could at the beach. It was almost like I had my own private beach! There were so few people around, it was just fantastic!
The first day I literally drove around the entire island. So serene, and beautiful. Every turn made me fall in love with the country more.
The following day I toured the Takamaka Rum Distillery. The rum tasting was so informative! I had no idea-the tour was great too. Definitely a good use of time. Then of course, back to the beach.
Look at how clear the water is. And look at the white crabs! I've never seen one like that before. It's so peaceful out here and look at the bird that was waiting for me on the car when I got back! And again, the fab owner brought me a coconut when I got back from the beach. I just can't say enough about her! Instead of posting a ton of pictures of the same thing, I decided to keep this one short. But I'm sure you can see why I plan to come back SOON!
