Japan! I went to Okinawa in January, but I had to leave due to the weather. But I wanted to make it back for cherry blossom season—so here I am again! Even though there has been rain on and off, I'm glad I came back. What a beautiful country! I got to ride the bullet train a few times, and what a cool way to travel. Seeing the countryside while quickly traveling around the country—the way to go. I must also say that I was concerned with traveling by train in this country—I had heard there were only stairs to get to the trains—but no! They have elevators and escalators, so I was able to get around with all my luggage alone—yay! They also have designated luggage storage as well as under the seat in front of you and overhead storage. I will admit using the trains is a little more difficult than in other countries, but I was able to navigate it and get to all my destinations. The confusing part is there are different companies operating the trains, so there are 16-18 tracks and a ton of people rushing around—quite confusing to get to the right platform at the right time when you're unfamiliar with the station and don't speak the language. But people were very helpful, and I made it everywhere I needed to.

Bullet Train

Tonya met me in Busan and we travelled to Japan together. She was also helpful with the navigation. Our first stop in Japan was Osaka. We started in the Dotonbori area and walked around by the waterfront, then on to the mall and individual shops.

More octopus- from a famous restaurant. Takoyaki- it's cooked, but stuff was still moving⬇️

Takoyaki- Octopus in batter and cooked in a special pan drizzled with sauce.

I didn't like this snack- the octopus was rubbery-I couldn't even chew it and swallow. The breading and sauce were quite tasty though...

More pictures from walking around the Namba area. We also took a night tour so you can see the nighttime photo's from earlier in the day. Got to go to the "ghetto" too. Notice the black door- pride flag. That's how they signal friendly establishments/private clubs.

Check out the public pay and the vintage arcade games! Brings back memories!

I don't think we really scratched the surface for this bustling city, but I truly did enjoy what I saw. I'll end this with this-look at all the different types of KitKat's there are!!! Strawberry, Matcha, Milk Tea, Chocolate Matcha, Gold and flavors I didn't even recognize- we only have regular and white chocolate! Oh well...next up- Kyoto and Nara!
