I made it to the capital, and everywhere online I looked, they warned against driving in Tbilisi. Well, I had to turn my rental in not downtown, but within the city limits. Now I see why they said not to drive...besides traffic jams(it took me 40 minutes to go 7 miles) but people just drive. Make their own lanes, not obeying traffic laws etc. I finally pulled over and the rental guy came to get me-bless him. I must admit, I was even uptight as a passenger. I'm glad it's so walkable. But just like Türkiye, there are a lot of hills.
View of the city my first night in Tbilisi from my balcony. Then off to the evening walking tour.
Hotel, Theatre and their walk of stars. Top right, those are actual graves...in the middle of town. Not in a graveyard. Tons of statue's around town too.
Top is a church, really pretty. Side note, the churches don't have seats. They stand for the entire service - which could last up to 12 hours! And below that, parliament building(Where the protests were while I was there!)
Liberty Square and old town. Bottom right is oldest wedding chapel
Top is theater and stars(Actors), waterfront and government buildings, and old town.
Next up, wine country!
