I learned about Cyprus in school, but it was so exciting to actually visit. It's a small island, so I was able to get to most of it. It's still a divided country, and I landed in the northern part, which is part of Turkey. So they use the Lira there, not Euro like the rest of the country. I wasn't sure how this would work, going from north to south, but I was going for a housesit and she was able to get me situated. Basically, you have to go through customs, but you have to walk through. The north doesn't stamp your passport, they just give you a piece of paper and you have to walk through. It's maybe a block between the two and it's protected by the UN. But I'll focus on the northern territory for now. A lot of history here and unfortunately, it still looks like it did when the conflict ended in the 70's. I start walking around old town exploring, then on to the shopping area by the casino.

And I found a museum that was open. They had it set up recreating everyday life- check out the wooden shoes.

That's about it, which is fine. I was only here for two days. No across the border to Cyprus.
